PRESS RELEASE - HW PLASTICS and SPECTUS SYSTEMS (August 03)

indigo: TESTING the ELITE . .

Spectus Systems is pleased to confirm that the New Elite 70 system has undergone testing
at The National Physics Laboratory and has achieved excellent results, passing the required
levels with flying colours.

This level of achievement must be attributed to the system's revolutionary five-chambered design,
which has been proven to enhance the window's insulation performance.

Two samples of the system were tested using both 28mm Pilkington 'K' Glass/Air filled units
and Pilkington Optitherm SN/Air filled units. The results for the Pilkington 'K' glass sample came
out at 1.85 W/m2K, which is a significant pass result, exceeding the requirements of Document L.
The same high level was again attained with the Pilkington Optitherm SN sample, which achieved
an impressive 1.65 W/m2/K: more than adequate to meet the requirements of Document J, where
a value of less than 1.8 W/m2/K is required.

Engineer Peter Jones is not
surprised by the system's success:
"With these results we are confident that
our systems can meet the current & future
requirements of the Building Regulations
for conservation of fuel & power. Elite 70
has been designed to provide the very
best performance in a PVC window".
