PRESS RELEASE (April 2004)

indigo: INDIGO ON THE WAY UP . . .

At Indigo Products, National Sales Manager Dave Stearman and Manufacturing Director Stephen Kent
have set the bar high. Together they have embarked on an ambitious programme of enhanced customer
support and manufacturing efficiency that is already making a difference to the levels of service provided.

Indigo Products is an established company, based in the West Midlands, that has manufactured windows,
doors and conservatories to the trade since 1985. Within the last couple of years the company's future has
been underpinned by an investment of £3 million on new machinery. New cutting centres, CNC corner
cleaners, horizontal & vertical welders and a host of ancillary machines have transformed the manufacturing
capacity to a level where the company is now easily able to produce well over 2,000 frames per week.

As you would expect from one of the countries largest fabricators, Indigo Products have worked closely with
their system company HW Plastics. Last year Indigo were one of the first companies to manufacture the
Elite 70 window. Demand for this product has been strong and is growing. Currently 30% of Indigo's
production is using Elite 70 due to the many benefits it has to offer installers.

As Dave Stearman says "Elite 70 is the most exciting
and advanced product to hit the market in years.
It's a very attractive, fully sculptured & fully integrated
suite. It has a five chamber profile making it very
thermally efficient and for our customers it's a dream
to install due to the fact that it comes complete with
co-extruded gasket and a single leg knock in bead.
We offer different colour options including white, oak,
rosewood, rosewood on white and oak on white."

The Elite 70 system is fabricated along side the Sightline 70+ system. Together they offer a great deal
of choice and flexibility. They are supplemented by a dedicated conservatory division. Indigo's customers
know that they can rely on receiving conservatory quotations back within 24 hours and can take delivery
of complete conservatories within 10-14 days. The company was one of the first to recognise the benefits
of the 'Global Roof System', which has now become highly popular & successful. All Indigo roofs are pre-assembled, checked, stripped and delivered on site and are amongst the most competitive on the market.

Having the right products for today's market is vitally important for any business, but on its own - not enough.
Dave Stearman is also concerned that Indigo provides the right kind of help and advice for potential new
customers who are thinking of coming out of small scale fabrication. He says "we offer a complete service
that includes advice on planning a showroom, disposal of machinery and even help with legal matters.
We also have links with a firm of leading industry consultants who can advise on financial viability.
It's that kind of commitment to customers both large and small that has meant that several have been
trading with us for nearly 15 years."

Last December Stephen Kent joined the board
at Indigo Products as Manufacturing Director.
His background in production engineering in
the automotive and oil industries has given
him a fresh insight into how to improve the
manufacturing process. His modern, scientific
approach has begun to transform the internal
dynamics of the factory. Two key indicators to
the success of his strategy have been the
increase of 22% per man in productivity and
a reduction of in house reject levels of 40%.

Manufacturing Director

He has achieved these improvements through the careful application of what he describes as
'world class manufacturing techniques'. He says "we needed to measure our performance within the
factory by setting 'Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for both teams and individuals. Each member of staff
is encouraged to take responsibility for their own continuous quality assessment. The emphasis is as
much on quality assessment as quality control. Team leaders have been given more decision making
opportunities and all staff have been encouraged to take additional training which has helped to foster
greater flexibility and the ability to anticipate and solve problems before they happen."

Stephen has also put in place a dedicated in house maintenance team who now take care of all the
fabrication machinery. They run a strict programme of total preventative maintenance that has kept the
factory fully functioning with little or no loss of downtime. They have even used their ingenuity & engineering
know how to develop a special tool for internal corner cleaning which has greatly improved the finish on
the Elite 70 window.

Thanks to Stephen Kent, Indigo's customers are now benefiting from an improved transport system.
Logistics have now been outsourced to a specialist transport company that have been partnering Indigo
for many years. They are providing the company with access to a much larger fleet of vehicles, resulting
in more flexibility and improved delivery times no matter where their customers are located.

When asked about the future prospects of Indigo Products, Dave Stearman is positive and upbeat.
He says "we have worked very hard both internally & externally to transform our business. We know
our products are right, our manufacturing is right, our deliveries are right and our customer support is right.
It's all about getting the right team in place to deliver results. We don't expect our customers to put up with
anything less than our very best efforts" and we believe all installers have the right to expect the same."
